I left school at 16 with very few qualifications and not much of an idea of what I wanted to do with my life. I tried lots of different jobs but never really enjoyed any of them or found my calling.
I found out about LOPC through my daughter when she attended a session through her school. I later applied to do an apprenticeship after seeing it advertised and have never looked back.
I have achieved more than I could ever have expected. I’ve gained qualifications in water sports, climbing, first aid and so many more. I get the chance to work with different people every day, those with varying abilities and needs – this makes the role both challenging and extremely rewarding. I have had so much support from my colleagues at LOPC and also from Channel Training.
