Apprentice Multi-Activity Instructor

 

Woodhouse Park is a 36-acre Scout Activity Centre. With a stunning location, Woodhouse Park boasts a whole host of outdoor activities, camping for 2,500 people, and a variety of indoor accommodation.

Woodhouse Park Activity Centre currently has an exciting opportunity available for a 13-month Apprenticeship as a Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor. You will be trained to assist / deliver a wide range of outdoor and adventure activities as well as learning about the general day-to-day running of a busy outdoor activity centre.

The Centre delivers a various activities including; Climbing, Adventure Course, High Ropes, Archery, Rifles, Bushcraft, Team Building activities, Tomahawk Throwing, Abseiling and many more!

This post will also require the candidate to work in an assistant capacity across the site to obtain an all-round knowledge of centre-based work. All staff are expected to do their share of cleaning and other maintenance work as part of the role. Training is given in all areas as part of the position.

    • MTE Climbing Wall Instructor (Artificial Walls)
    • MTE Abseil Add-on
  • Training on Safeguarding, Prevent, Equality & Diversity, British Values, Staying Safe, COSHH, Manual Handling, Food Hygiene, and Fire Safety.

* Each apprentice will be expected to gain a selection of these NGBs during their course. Any apprentice who works for Woodhouse Park for an additional two years would be expected to have gained all the above qualifications.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Set up activities and pack away activities used by guests visiting the site.
  • Lead instructed activities, including climbing, high ropes, abseiling, rifle shooting, archery, and more.
  • Support other staff in undertaking weekly and monthly inspections of equipment, activities, and facilities, and report any issues.
  • Support other staff in the day to day running of the site, including some maintenance to buildings and activities, and light administration.

Skills and qualifications:

  • Level 1 (GCSE Grade D / 3) in Functional Skills Maths and English is essential.

Essential Details:

Salary: Weekly £192 / Annual Wage £9,984

Working Hours: 30 hours per week.
