A big welcome to Owen Chidgey who started his Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist apprenticeship at Bale’s Farm – Outdoor Learning on 3rd May.

Bale’s Farm offers a therapeutic outdoor learning provision for children between the ages of 5 and 19 with the aim to re-engage and re-inspire them with learning. The farm is based at a smallholding in Daccombe, where they have a range of indoor and outdoor spaces to use and there are a variety of animals including pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs. Bale’s Farm also provide an opportunity to learn practical life skills, develop independence and the importance of responsibility.

The Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist apprenticeship involves the design, planning and delivery of programmes that provide learning and change using outdoor activities and experiences.

The Outdoor Learning Specialist Standard provides progression from the Outdoor Activity Instructor Standard or from equivalent experience in an instructor role. We have developed a unique curriculum and skills offer that enables us to shape the apprenticeship to fit your needs. Retaining staff in a dynamic sector needs careful consideration and broad, flexible and well supported Professional Development.

Our mission is to help employers keep hold of and develop talented staff in a sustainable and effective way. Employers tell us that working with an independent training provider that is genuinely invested in the sector brings a huge range of benefits to their operation.
