We are thrilled to share that Sam Glencross of Inside Out Education Ltd is the very first Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist Apprentice to complete the standard – and with a Distinction grade.
Inside Out chose Channel Training to provide Sam’s programme and it has been a great privilege to support his growth and development through the Outdoor Activity Instructor standard and now the Outdoor Learning Specialist programme.
Channel Training’s Lead Tutor, Chloe Kinsella, said, “Sam has been heavily involved in the development of Inside Out programmes through design, risk benefit analysis and delivery; including new bushcraft skills and qualifications, archery and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. It is clear that Sam will continue to push bushcraft practice forward with his involvement in the wider sector and his dedication to the development of innovative bushcraft skills”.
The Apprenticeship pathway from Level 3 Outdoor Activity Instructor to Level 5 Outdoor Learning Specialist is a powerful tool for workforce development. “Thanks to our Apprenticeships, designed by employers in the outdoor learning sector, professionals like Sam can access well resourced and fast paced development, and make a huge gains for themselves and their employer”, commented Jim Whittaker, Channel Training MD.
Chloe added, “It is always an honour to work with new industry professionals and support their progression within the sector, and exceptionally exciting to support the success of the first ever Outdoor Learning Specialist Apprentice in achieving a distinction. A huge well done to Sam and we look forward to working with him further in the future as a colleague in outdoor learning”.
