Adding Value to the Apprenticeship – Training to Fit Your Needs
To support practical skills development, Channel Training offers a skills package for all apprentices, which is aligned to the core content of the standard.
This enables in-depth, relevant skills development for learners through face-to-face delivery and NGB training. This package is not mandatory but an optional extra we provide to ensure quality and add value as a foundation for developing careers and a route to competence.
The courses are offered to apprentices for free to enhance the apprenticeship’s value. However, depending on location and numbers, apprentices may have to travel to be able to join a course, and we cannot support travel expenses or accommodation costs.
Governing body membership fees, registrations, and certifications are also the responsibility of the individual or employer.
The Apprenticeship Tutor Team works with employers and apprentices to create an individualised learning plan (ILP) which maps out the training to take place throughout the Apprenticeship. This includes workplace training, Apprenticeship learning support, personal skill development and the NGB courses that will take place during the practical learning period of the Apprenticeship. The Skills Development package is chosen as part of the programme design to meet the needs of the employer and learner.
